5th Heart Team Winter Summit

March 5 to 10, 2023

Dear Colleagues and Friends!

After we had to stop the 3rd Heart Team Winter Summit in March 2020 amidst of a rising Corona pandemic in Europe, the meeting was cancelled in the succeeding year 2021. Despite a somewhat unpredictable future it is now time for a “resurrection” of this event in 2022, if pandemic and legal circumstances permit a physical meeting.

We take the opportunity to cordially invite you want to the next meeting, the 4th Heart Team Winter Summit from March 13th – 18th 2022 in Zürs am Arlberg.

By addressing adult and pediatric cardiac surgeons and cardiologists the previous meetings have been very successful and could attract an equal number of participants as in the years before. From personal communications we received many positive reflections already at the meeting as well as thereafter and participants expressed interest for succeeding with the “4th Heart Team Winter Summit 2022”. This meeting is also the successor of the former “Cardiovascular Surgical Symposium” which has a history of more than 3 decades in Zürs. In 2022 it would be the “Jubilee 40 th Cardiovascular Surgical Symposium”.

At this point we take the opportunity to thank all the speakers, chairmen, participants and supporters for their valuable contributions in all the former traditional Zürs meetings. Our thanks go in particular to our industry partners, who are the indispensable pillars of the meeting and enable a broad spectrum of scientific topics to be discussed.

Based on our former experience we continue to expand the spectrum of scientific topics also to the field of pediatric cardiology and pediatric cardiac surgery in 2022. Topics related to these specialties belong together with adult cardiac surgery and cardiology to the core of scientific activities and discussions.

The meeting will continue with the “spirit” of the former Zürs symposia – to discuss scientific and clinical relevant topics of cardiovascular medicine in a relaxed and individual congress venue. This will be an ideal atmosphere for interdisciplinary networking.

Nevertheless, we have to follow reasonable precautions to stay free from Coronavirus infection during the meeting. Thus, participation is only possible in case of a valid certificate for Corona Vaccination or Convalescence. In addition, for initial entry a negative Corona PCR not older than 72 hours is mandatory.

We encourage you to submit your scientific work as abstracts for oral presentation or video presentation and look forward to see¬ you again at the “4th Heart Team Winter Summit” in Zürs am Arlberg!

Sincerely,

Günther Laufer            Daniel Zimpfer            Ina Michel-Behnke            Theodor Fischlein
